Funeral Attended on Wednesday Afternoon by a Number of Friends and Relatives from a Distance--His Son Grandson are also Veterans

James R. Pike died at his home in Mill street Monday morning at 8:45 o'clock, after a long illness with stomach trouble. Mr. Pike was born in Erie county, Pa., October 14, 1840, the eldest of ten children of Levi and Olive Potter Pike. He served in Co. B, 60th Regiment of N.Y. Vet. Vol., and received his honorable discharge with his company at the close of the war, after which he came to East Randolph where he married Miss Cornelia Helms on March 20, 1868. Four children were born of this union, three of whom, with the wife survive; one daughter, Mrs. Chauncey Helms of Ridgeway, Pa.; Cleveland Pike, Caledonia and Lee Pike, Olean.
