George Galusha Dies at Age 94
George Galusha, a life-long resident of Shaftsbury and a direct descendant of former Vermont Gov. Jonas Galusha, died yesterday at a Bennington
nursing home at the age of 94. Among his survivors are three great-great-great grandchildren.
Friends described Mr. Galusha as 'a real old-timer with a sense of humor.' Throughout his life he maintained an interest in horses and, in his later years, gardening. He was known for his frequent visits to his neighbors and friends.
Mr. Galusha received his education in the Shaftsbury schools and North Bennington High School. Following graduation from high school he worked with his father on their farm - now known as the Poly Meadows farm - in Shaftsbury Center.
In 1887, he married the former Edith L. Frisbie of North Bennington. They continued to live on the family homestead until 1927 when the property was sold to a Mrs. Bryce, a daughter of Admiral George
