Mrs. Antone Cayo died Tuesday October 29, 1918. On Nov. 1 she would have been 86 years of age.

Early last week, Mrs. Cayo, in falling in her son's kitchen, sustained a broken hip, the result and shock of which ended her long and useful life.

Mrs. Cayo was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Nov. 1, 1833, and came to Wisconsin at the age of 15. She was married to Antone Cayo at Manitowoc Rapids, Wisconsin, July 16, 1854. She and her husband, now deceased, came to this city on April 18, 1882, thirty-six years ago, and they were the first family in Hayward.

Besides 35 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren she leaves 10 children to mourn her loss. They are:
Joe Cayo, Nickerson, MN; Jim Cayo, Portland, OR; Mrs. A. Searle, Superior, WI; Edd. Cayo, Solon Springs, WI; Jack Cayo, Jim Falls, WI; George Cayo, Will Cayo, Mrs. I.C. Phillips, all of Portland, OR; Mrs. Dan McQuarry, Fort Atkinson, WI; Oma Cayo, Hayward.
