'Francois Dubois was about 17 years old when he decided to migrate into the valley of the Saint-Lawrence. The archivist of the department of Cotes-du-Nord found no baptismal act for Francois, nor his indenture agreement. The census of 1681 said he was 30 years old. It is the only valid tool offered to researchers.'
