1672 - Seigniory (Tilly or St. Antoine) Granted Oct. 29, 1672, to Sieur de Villieu
It was on October 29, 1672 that the territory located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, between the boundaries of the seigneuries of Lauzon and Sainte-Croix, was granted to Mr. Claude-Sébastien de Villieu, lieutenant of the regiment of Carignan. Towards the end of the 17th century, there were five families there.

1681 - Parish of St-Antoine-de-Tilly is estalished
In 1700, the seigniory was sold to Pierre-Noël Le Gardeur, Sieur de Tilly, who gave it his name. The new lord settled there with his second wife, Madeleine Boucher, daughter of the famous Pierre Boucher, governor of Trois-Rivières.

From 1702, a wooden chapel was erected. Ten years later, in 1712, the first stone of the church was laid.

1832 - TILLY or ST. ANTOINE,
seigniory, in the co. of Lotbiniere, is bounded E. by Lauzon, W. by Desplaines; in the rear by Gaspe; in front by the St. Lawrence. - 1 1/ 2 league in depth. Granted Oct. 29, 1672, to Sieur de Villieu and is now the property of __ Noel, Esq. - In this S. water is scarce. - The Parish of St. Antoine, by an order in council of Mar. 3, 1722, which confirmed the regulation of Feb. 20, 1721, extends in front 3 1/ 4 leagues, viz. 4 arpents comprised in the fief of Dame Beaudouin and one league 38 arpents the remaining extent of the S. of Tilly, also fief Miranda 3.4 of a league in front, and also F. Bonsecours one league, ascending as far as Ste. Croix.

1895 - Saint Antoine de Tilly
Saint Antoine de Tilly, a post-village in Lotbinière co., Quebec, on the S. shore of the St. Lawrence, 24 miles S.W. of Quebec. It contains a church, 6 stores, 4 saw-mills, a grist-mill, and a carding- and fulling-mill. Pop. 600.
In the history of Canada, Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly is also remembered as the site of the sinking of the Canadian aircraft carrier Warrior, which ran aground on the flats facing Pointe Méthot in 1946.
