Funeral services for James Dickson Polley Sr., for many years a member of the firm of E. B. Taylor and Company, who died Wednesday morning after a brief illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Raymond Bullock, 117 North Crenshaw Avenue, will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday at Sweeny's Funeral Home, 208 West Grace Street. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Polley, a son of Hiram and Mrs. Mary Currie Polley, was born in Wilmington, N.C., but had resided here for 45 years. He was actively engaged in business until his retirement several years ago and was a charter member of the North Carolina Society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Bullock of Richmond and Mrs. H. L. Scott of Roanoke; two sons, Colonel J. D. Polley Jr., United States Army, of Charleston, S.C., and Charles Nelson Polley of Richmond, and several grandchildren.
