Obituary

Helen D. Snow, 99, of Harris Street, Marblehead, wife of the late George Polley and Horace Snow, a Marblehead firefighter, died Sunday at her home following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Dixey) Stillman. Mrs. Snow was a vaudeville singer during the 1920s and traveled all over the country.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.

Mrs. Snow was pre-deceased by two sons, the late Herbert (Bud) Polley and the late George (Gib) Polley.

Mrs. Snow is survived by three sons, Stillman Polley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Robert Snow of Salem and Donald Snow of Marblehead; two daughters, Helen Cashman of Naples, Ill., and Patricia McKay of Marblehead, and daughter-in-law Vernelle Polley Hafele and a sister Gladys Durant of Marblehead, 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
