Lewis and Sarah Ann sold a small piece — 8¾ acres and 6 rods — out of that same farm to James Service (a neighbor/ local resident of the same town) for $175. This is the parcel later referenced as 'reserved' in the 1849 deed below.

Mortgage, dated Feb 24, 1844 (recorded April 11, 1844):
Lewis Salisbury and Sarah Ann his wife mortgaged their farm (bounded by Fish Creek, described by metes and bounds matching the later deeds) to secure a bond of $1,164, due April 1, 1844. This tells you Lewis was carrying real debt on the farm as of early 1844 — worth noting for context on the sales that follow.

Large deed - release, dated April 2, 1849 (recorded July 4, 1849):
This is a fuller re-description of the farm — the eastern moiety (south half of Lot 20), bounded by the junction of Fish Creek and the Hudson River, containing 170.75 acres, explicitly 'saving and reserving' the 8.75-acre piece already sold to James Service in 1844. A second small parcel (also approx. 8.75 acres, 6 rods) at the southeast corner of Lot 20 is described as well. Lewis and Sarah Ann both signed and were acknowledged before John Elmer, Justice, April 2, 1849.

Second sale to James Service, dated May 21, 1852 (acknowledged; recorded Jan 29, 1853):
Lewis and Sarah Ann sold another 13 acres, 1 rod, 34 rods — described as 'a moiety of the farm heretofore owned by' Lewis in the Town of Saratoga — to James Service again, this time for $100.

So across 1844–1852, Lewis progressively sold off pieces of his Fish Creek/ Hudson River farm to the same neighbor, James Service, while retaining and periodically re-describing the core parcel — a classic pattern of a farmer gradually liquidating acreage, possibly to pay down the 1844 mortgage debt or simply scaling down over time.

Sale dated April 27, 1858 (recorded May 13, 1858):
Lewis Salisbury and Sarah Ann his wife, 'of the town and County of Saratoga,' sold a village lot in Schuylerville, on the west side of Broadstreet, for $725, to a man whose name is written similarly to 'James Roy' (the handwriting is ambiguous — worth double-checking against the original index). The lot was bounded north by lands of the heirs of John R. Mott, deceased, east by Broadstreet, south by lands of the heirs of John Cox, deceased, and west by an alley — part of Lots 57, 59, and a strip of Lot 61, roughly 150 x 130 feet.

This shows Lewis and Sarah Ann also held in-town property in the village of Schuylerville, separate from the farm, which they sold off in 1858 — later than the farm sales, and possibly their final documented land transaction in Saratoga before any move elsewhere (worth checking for a subsequent relocation).

'Lewis Salisbury an old and respected citizen of Aurora died Thursday last from the effect of a paralytic stroke. His wife is an invalid from a stroke of paralysis.'

In Aurora, the 23 inst. Lewis Salisbury died at 86 years of age. Mrs. James W. Race of Washington Street in this city was his daughter. The funeral services will be held at his late residence on Saturday at 2 P. M.

DIED - SALISBURY - in this city April 21, Mrs. Lewis Salisbury, at the residence of her daughter Mrs. James W. Race, 106 Washington Street.
