Paralysis coupled with her age caused her death. She was 84 years of age. She came to Michigan in 1837 taking the overland route from Mechanicsvlile, Saratoga county, N. Y. Most of her life was spent in this city. She was a member of the old St. John's Episcopal church and was very actively engaged in guild work. She was the widow of the late David Sergeant who was very prominent in Kalamazoo. There survives one son, C. H. Sergeant and one daughter, Mrs. S. E. Keyport, both of Detroit. Mrs. Sergeant left Kalamazoo five years ago to reside with her daughter. The body will arrive in Kalamazoo at 11 o'clock Friday morning and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the residence of E. B. Russell, 506 south West street. The Rev.
