Invention The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' Initially used in commercial settings, microwaves becomes affordable for home use by the 1960s and 1970s, revolutionizing cooking.

Pig Case Ends in $207 Verdict
The Superior Court pig case ended this noon when jurors brought in a verdict of $207 for Walter T. Horn of Adams.

Mr. Horn had charged that Frank Irzyk of Cheshire had 'converted to his own use two pigs, the property of the plaintiff.' The tort action was brought for the recovery of $600 damages.

Walter T Horn
Each of three children are to receive $1000 under the will of Walter T Horn, Adams, who named his wife, Sadie K. Horn, residuary legatee. She is also executor. Trust funds of $10,000 were set up for each of the two older children, Paige Campbell Horn, now Paige H. Plunkett, and Robert H. Horn, under the original will, but the amount was changed five months later when a codiell was added in November, 1922. The third child is Pauline H. Whitney of Cheshire.
