Jacques  married  Victoire ARPIN (HARPIN) 14 October 1799 in Contrecœur, Lower Canada .  The couple had (at least) 8 children.
Victoire ARPIN (HARPIN)  was born 15 January 1781 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception).  Victoire died 29 April 1857 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception).  Victoire was the child of Antoine-Rene HERPIN (ARPIN) and Marie-Louise HUDON dite BEAULIEU.

Jacques SALOIS died 3 March 1859 in Saint-Ours, Canada East .

Jacques SALOIS was a journalier.
The journalier, or day labourer, was a worker employed by the day, typically in the agricultural sector. He usually only worked during the summer months, for low wages, which meant that day labourers were among the poorest of the inhabitants of New France.
