On May 11, 2010, the earth opened up in Saint-Jude, swallowing up part of this Montérégie village. Rescuers have the lifeless bodies of a couple of their two daughters. The four family members were in the basement of their elegant country home cheering on the Montreal Canadiens when the landslide occurred. It left a large crater and it also swallowed three cars and a stretch of paved road.
