Obituary
Mrs Lucy Wheeler, wife of Frank E Wheeler from Plevna, Montana, died at the home of Mrs Augusta Braley, in Terry last Saturday morning, after suffering three weeks from blood poisoning. Mrs Wheeler, who was 65 years old on the day of her death, was taken with a carbuncle on her neck some time ago at her home near Plevna, from which blood poison developed. Dr Shaw of Terry was called and had the lady brought to Terry, where he did all in his power to stop the spread of the disease.

The body was prepared by the Stith undertaking for burial soon after her death and the remains were shipped to Plevna Saturday afternoon on # 18, where the funeral and interment took place Sunday.
She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her death; all of whom were at her bedside when she died.

Did You Know?According to the Wisconsin Historical Society, Wisconsin means 'river running through a red place' (the red place referring to the red sandstone bluffs of the Wisconsin Dells); they also say the name 'is the English spelling of a French version of a Miami Indian name' for the Wisconsin river (which runs 430 miles through the center of Wisconsin). (statesymbolsusa.org)

May 29, 1848 - Wisconsin becomes 25th U.S. state. The state is smaller than the territory and the leftover area continued to be called the Territory of Wisconsin until March 3, 1849. (www.50states.com)
