'Lizzie was a daughter of Jacob Rhoades and his wife, Mary Schneider. She married first in 1863 to Lyman A. Bender; who died at Andersonville prison and is buried there. Secondly she married Charles W. Pullen; one of eight known children of Thomas W. Pullen and his wife, Henrietta Troup. Elizabeth and Charles had six children; five sons and one daughter. Lizzie also had a son by her first husband. Charles raised the boy, Lyman as his own. Lizzie and Charles farmed in Iroquois County, Illinois. Lizzie and Charles were divorced circa 1878. Lizzie's death was due to pneumonia. '
