Biography
Eleanor Roosevelt, a remarkable woman in American history, lived a life marked by activism, advocacy, and resilience. Born Anna Eleanor Roosevelt on October 11, 1884, in New York City, she came from a privileged background but faced personal challenges that shaped her into a compassionate and influential figure.

Eleanor was the niece of President Theodore Roosevelt, and her early years were marked by the loss of both parents. Her mother, Anna Hall Roosevelt, died when Eleanor was just eight years old, and her father, Elliott Roosevelt, passed away two years later. Orphaned at a young age, she went to live with her maternal grandmother, Mary Ludlow Hall. Eleanor's childhood experiences fueled her empathy for the less fortunate and inspired her later commitment to social justice.

In 1905, Eleanor married her distant cousin, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who would later become the 32nd President of the United States. Despite the challenges in their marriage, including Franklin's polio
