He died at the age of 82.

Obituary
Jedediah Marcy, an old citizen of Southbridge, died Thursday at the age of 82 years, in the same house in which he was born, and which was erected by his father, Col. Moses Marcy, the first settler in that part of town. Mr. Marcy had hald many public offices, and was a member of the Legislature in 1824, 1824 and 1837. He was a brother of the late Gov. William L. Marcy, and his family have enjoyed much prominence from their wealth and influence.
