Biography
Anne Sullivan was a remarkable woman known for her dedication to education, particularly for her work with Helen Keller. Born on April 14, 1866, in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, Anne Mansfield Sullivan contracted a severe eye infection at a young age, which left her partially blind. Orphaned at a young age, she faced numerous challenges in her early life.
Anne attended the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, where she received an education despite her visual impairment. She developed a strong desire to help others with visual impairments, leading her to become a teacher. At the age of 20, Anne Sullivan was recommended to be a teacher for Helen Keller, a young deaf and blind girl.
