In the name of God Amen - I, Pebles Hastey, being weak in body but in and of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all me to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First of all, I recommend my body to the earth and my soul to God who gave it - and as touching this worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and devise and dispose of in the following manner and form.
First of all, I give and bequeath unto my wife Charity, a tract of land in the said county on the waters of Stewartsville Creek containing four hundred and eighty three acres, known as the Stegall tract, during her natural life and at her death to my youngest daughter, Nicy Adaline. Also unto my wife Charity,
