Pierre PARADIS married Ancestor is complete!immigrant flag female ancestor Barbe GUYON-- Date: 11 February 1632 Place: Mortagne, Perche, France
Barbe GUYON was the child of Jean GUYON and Mathurine ROBIN

"Pierre Paradis wed Barbe Guyon about 1633. She was thirteen years younger than her husband. Baptized on 19 April 1617, she was the daughter of Jean and Mathurine Robin, who were married on 2 June 1615 at Saint-Jean-de-Morgagne. It should be said that those parents of Barbe also came to Canada, but in the employ of Robert Giffard.

The Guyon family left France for Canada in company with Robert Giffard in the spring of 1634. Barbe stayed in France with her husband Pierre, who worked as a cutler. They did not go with her parents because Barbe had a baby about that time. The child, Charlotte, was born on 4 April 1634, but died shortly thereafter."

Biography
PARADIS – Comes from the agglutination of Le Paradis, the name of several localities in France. Or even the one who lives or who is from the place called paradise, that is to say a good land, a good valley, a pleasant, sunny, green place. Pierre Paradis (1604-1675) Born in 1604 in Notre-Dame de Mortagne in the Perche, son of the cutler Jacques Paradis and Michelle Pesle, he married on February 11, 1632 Barbe Guyon, daughter of Jean Guyon and Mathurine Robin. Together they will have 11 children. They arrived in New France in 1653, and took up residence in the seigniory of Notre-Dame-des-Anges in 1654 on land of 2 arpents frontage for an annual rent of 50 sols and 2 capons. Then in 1667, Jean Madry rented to him for an annual rent of 6 deniers tourneys and a chicken of 10 sols a land of half an arpent still in the seigneury of Notre-Dame-des-Anges on which there is a house, a barn and a stable. In 1670, in his sick bed, he dictated his will: he bequeathed 20 livres to the cemetery of...Read MORE...

1669 Death of Child
Marie-Madeleine PARADIS died 29 November 1669, Château-Richer, Québec, Canada (La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame de Chateau-Richer)

'Pierre made his will before notary Becquet on 28 May 1670 when he was gravely ill in the Hotel-Dieu of Quebec. He gave twenty livres to the hospital twenty livres to the Chapel of the Jusuit fathers twenty livres to the Church of Beauport his wife Babe Guyon was to inherit all else without reference to any other custom of inheritence however, Pierre lived for five more years... This brave man died at Sainte-Famille on the Island of Orleans, where he was buried on 29 January 1675... It seems that Barbe Guyon, the widow, lived for many years in the home of her daughter Marie, the wife of Guillaume Bauche, at Sainte-Famille it is there that we find her in the census of 1681. But later on, she must have lived at Saint-Pierre with one of her sons she was buried from there on 29 November 1700.'
