Montebello, a village in Papineau county, Quebec, on the north shore of the Ottawa river, 43 miles east of Hull. It was incorpo-rated in 1878, but the name was given earlier to his seigniory by Louis Joseph Papineau, in honour of the Duke of Montebel-lo, whose friendship Papineau had won when in France, and who later visited him here. The Papineau seigniory was originally designated by the name "La Petite Nation", from the name of the Algonkian tribe that originally inhabited this locality. The chief industries of the district are farming and lumbering.
Marie married twice. She was partnered to (#1) William MacKenzie (?) and (#2) Joseph Guillaume Paquette.
