Bull on rampage injures two

CANANDAIGUA — A black bull had almost nine hours of freedom yesterday after it escaped from the Finger Lakes Livestock Market on Rt. 5-20 and picked up a trucker with its horns and tossed him in the air.

Later shot by Paul Zimmerman, Rt. 5-20, the bull, which was a cross between a Brahma and an Angus, was found to weigh 1,000 pounds.

Before it was shot and killed, it sent two men to the hospital and caused a search by the Ontario County Sheriffs Department and State Police, which ended shortly after 6 p m yesterday. An airplane took part in the hunt.

The property of Richard Morris, Naples RD, the bull escaped as it was being unloaded at the livestock market.

This was about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. The bull was being unloaded into a tagging chute when the half-ton monster jumped the rails into the center pen.
