Columbia Anna Wright was the daughter of George Washington Wright and Eliza Jane Gresham Wright. She was born on Saturday evening the second of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty-five.(1855) near Greenville, Meriwether Co., Georgia. She was known affectionately as Lummie by her family.

Her mother, Eliza, died in 1863 and her father, George in 1864 during the Civil War. Her uncle, Dr. Jacob Bowman Wright, was appointed her guardian in 1872.

In December of 1874 she moved with her Uncle's family to Gray Rock, Franklin County and Titus County, Texas. While enroute to Texas the baggage car on their train burned and they lost all their possessions. They detrained at Jefferson, Texas, and went by covered wagon on to Gray Rock where Dr. Wright practiced medicine for many years.

Mr. Thomas S. Johnson and Columbia Anna Wright were married on Thursday the eleventh day of November in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and seventy - five. (1875)

They were the parents
of seven children: William Bowman, Freddie May, George, Hattie Anna, Eddie, Elizabeth Jane "Mittie", and Thomas Samuel Jr.
