David K. Wilson, supervisor from Friends Creek township and an old and well known resident of Macon county, died at his home near Argenta at 3:50 o'clock, aged 62 years. Mr. Wilson had been sick since the latter part of September, when he ad a severe attack of cholera morbus. He partly recovered and attended the senatorial convention at Mt. Pulaski, where he took a cold and suffered a relapse. He was taken down with typhoid fever from which he did not recover.
The deceased was a native of Tennesseee and came to Macon county in 1835. He leaves a widow and six children: Mrs. Sol Betzer, Mrs. John Ross, Mrs. Marion Renabarger, Andrew Wilson, William Wilson, and George Wilson. His brother, Samuel Wilson of Kansas, came to Argenta a week ago. A sister resides in Iowa. His niece is Mrs. Aaron Smick of Decatur.
Mr. Wilson was a leading member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church and a man of influence who was highly esteemed wherever known. He was the owner of about 800 acres of land....Read full story
