Charles Rhinehart MARKHAM  was born 10/29/1895 in New York, USA.  Charles Rhinehart died 1/6/1953 in Seaford, Delaware, USA.  Charles Rhinehart was the child of Patrick MARKHAM and Carrie RHINEHART.

Mildred MORRISON died 1/5/1977 in Elmhurst, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA.





I have done a lot of research on my Great Grandmother Mildred Morrison Markham. She was one of the first women to get a Doctor Degree in the US. She taught for a few years after graduating when she took a job in Washington DC for the Treasury Department when she was writing laws that would affect the education of children nationwide. She married Charles Markham on New Years Eve 1919, he was a musician and I would imagine that was very difficult for a woman who was so well educated. Her mother must have been a very strong lady because Mildred's father died when she was only 5 years old and Kathryn still managed in those times to raise a daughter who got a Doctor Degree, when most women were still kept at home. Of all of my ancestor's I think Mildred is one of my very most favorite and I hope to have gotten some of who I am because I come from her.
