My 2x Great Grandfather was the first generation to be born in the US from Irish immigrant parents. He was born lived and died in the town of Carbondale Pennsylvania. He married a local woman from Scranton and had 2 children, when his son was only 6 weeks old when he died. He was going to be pulling the float for the Knights of Pythias in the 4th of July parade when the sound of exploding fireworks startled the team of all white horses and the took off he tried to control them as they were tossing people off the float and smashing it into poles. Michael tried to jump up to the head of the horses and fell he was crushed by the wagon and death was almost immediate. He was supposed to have been buried at Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery but the only Michael Morrison that was buried there according to FindaGrave.com is that of his nephew Michael Morrison who was born in 1879 and died November 1899.
