Charles worked as a Stable Boy at the Green Street Hotel in Pasadena, CA in the 1890s. It was there that he met his future wife, Ida May GARDNER, who was a maid at the hotel. They had a daughter (Alta Mae BROWN). He worked as a farmhand in Jacksonville, OR, living in a small cabin on the farmer's land.in the early 1900s. It was there that their twins, Ray Gardner BROWN and Roy Gafford BROWN, were born in 1903. They returned to Pasadena where he worked as a carpenter. Their last child, Earl Robert BROWN, was born in Pasadena. He went to work one morning, and, unexpectedly, died on the job of an apparent heart attack. He was a hard-working man, a loving husband and father.
Charles is buried at: Mountain View Cemetery, 2400 Fair Oaks Ave., Altadena, CA.
