feefhs -- message regarding Hayn and Trauschke families -- not sure where this fits in "I am trying to find information on my great-great-grandfather, Hermann Gustav HAYN, (possibly Gustav Hermann HAYN in the old country). He was born 8 May 1841 at Kerzdorf, Kreis Lauban, Schlesien to Ernst and Henrietta HAYN. I was unable to find his birth record in the church records for Lauban, so I suspect that they may be located at Holzkirch. Unfortunately I do not have access to them for that time period. Does anyone know if they exist? And how to find them? Hermann immigrated to the US in 1858. I also found him on the ship's log for the "SS New York" on 25 June 1866. He was traveling with an Auguste HAYN, possibly his sister. I traced both of them to Pittsfield, Massachusetts where an Eleanore Auguste HEYNE married someone with the last name of TRAUSCHKE who was from Lauban."
Alternate place of birth: Kerzdorf, Kreis Lauban, Schlesien, Prussia
