Michel  married  (2) Suzanne CHOUINARD 13 January 1825 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Lower Canada .  The couple had (at least) 1 child. Suzanne CHOUINARD  was born 3 October 1796 in Kamouraska, Québec, Canada (Saint-Louis) (Saint-Alexandre).  Suzanne died 3 October 1857 in Yamaska, Québec, Canada (Saint-Michel-d'Yamaska).  Suzanne was the child of Louis-Marie CHOUINARD and Marie-Josephe LEVASSEUR.

Michel  married  (3) Genevieve LECLERC 13 May 1859 in Sorel, Lower Canada .  Genevieve LECLERC  was born 23 September 1811 in Berthierville, Québec, Canada (Berthier-en-Haut) (Ste-Genevieve-de-Berthier).  Genevieve died 26 January 1899 in Joliette, Québec, Canada (Industry Village) (Saint-Charles-Borromée) (Saint-Paul-de-Lavaltrie).  Genevieve was the child of Jean-Baptiste LECLAIR (LECLERC) and Marie GENEREUX.

Michel FOURQUIN dit LEVEILLE died 29 October 1861 in Yamaska, Lower Canada .

Occupation: farmer and political figure in Canada East. He represented Yamaska in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada from 1848 to 1851

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.

Né à Yamaska et baptisé dans la paroisse Saint-Michel, le 30 septembre 1791, fils de Joseph Léveillé et de Marguerite Lasalle. Connu surtout sous le patronyme de Fourquin.

Fut cultivateur à Yamaska.

Défait dans Yamaska en 1844. Élu député de cette circonscription en 1848; membre du Groupe canadien-français, puis réformiste. Défait en 1851.

Se noya dans la baie de Lavallière, le 27 octobre 1861, à l'âge de 70 ans. Inhumé dans l'église Saint-Michel, à Yamaska, le 29 octobre 1861.

Avait épousé dans sa paroisse natale, le 6 février 1815, Catherine Parenteau, fille de Michel Parenteau et d'Élisabeth Forcier; puis, dans la paroisse Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue, à Baie-du-Febvre, le 13 janvier 1825, Suzanne Chouinard, veuve d'Antoine Caya; enfin, dans la paroisse Saint-Pierre, à Sorel, le 13 mai 1859, Geneviève Leclerc, veuve d'Édouard Ducondu.
