Michel  married  (3) Genevieve LECLERC 13 May 1859 in Sorel, Canada East .  Genevieve LECLERC  was born 23 September 1811 in Berthierville, Québec, Canada (Berthier-en-Haut) (Ste-Genevieve-de-Berthier).  Genevieve died 26 January 1899 in Joliette, Québec, Canada (Industry Village) (Saint-Charles-Borromée) (Saint-Paul-de-Lavaltrie).  Genevieve was the child of Jean-Baptiste LECLAIR (LECLERC) and Marie GENEREUX.

Michel FOURQUIN dit LEVEILLE was a farmer and political figure in Canada East. He represented Yamaska in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada from 1848 to 1851.
The farmer, cultivateur, or cultivator, was a person who cultivated and exploited the land in order to get a crop.

He may have been the proprietor of his own parcel(s) of land. He could, depending on the land size, have employed other agricultural workers. If he didn't own the land, he was called a tenant farmer.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
