He married Lydia Dodge and their children were born in Courland county between 1807 and 1830. These were Amanda, Ansel, Oliver, Nelson, Rhoda, Elisha, George, Mary Jane, Christopher, Silas, Samuel, Lydia Ann. Three of the sons came to Whitewater (Wisconsin).
