CHESTER -- Funeral services were held for Kathryn A. (Kingsbury) Magoon at Adams & Kenney Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon.
John Martens officiated the services, opening with the 23rd Psalm. He spoke of Mrs. Magoon's longevity and visiting with her and her sister, Edna Kingsbury, on the farm in Chester many times over the years.
Peter Bellville led those present in two songs, “Come, Follow Me” and “Abide With Me.” He also spoke fondly of his many memories of his grandmother.
Also sharing memories were Kathryn Martin, a niece; Theresa O'Connor, a granddaughter; Susan M. Smith, a granddaughter-in-law; and Kenneth Bell ville, a son-in-law.
After the services, a reception was held at the Andover Community Church.
Burial will take place in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Putney.
Mrs. Magoon, 104, of Brattleboro, died Feb. 26, 2005, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Brattleboro.
