CHARLES NASH MATTOON, son of Charles and Julia Ann (Burnham) Mattoon. Born in Lenox, Mass., Feb. 9, 1812. Prepared for College in Lenox Academy. Entered, 1832, from Williams. Auburn Theological Seminary, 1836. Ordained, 1837. Pastor, Presbyterian church, Canoga, N. Y., 1837-1841; Aurora, N. Y., 1841-1850; Leroy, 1850-1857. President, Farmers' College, Cincinnati, O., 1856-1861. Pastor, Rockford, Ill., 1861-1862; Monroe, Mich., 1863-1877. Married Angeline T. Martindale, Feb. 9, 1833. Children: A. Therese (Mrs. Samuel Caldwell); Frances (Rauch). A. B.; D. D., Farmers' College, 1859. Died in Monroe, Mich., May 27, 1886.
