The War of 1812 was a conflict between the United States and Great Britain, lasting from 1812 to 1815. It was primarily fueled by issues such as trade restrictions due to Britain's ongoing war with France, impressment of American sailors into the British Navy, and British support of Native American tribes against American expansion. The war ended with the Treaty of Ghent, restoring pre-war boundaries but resolving few of the initial disputes.

We feel that the link, which has been broken off from the chain that binds us to this world, unites us so much more closely to that which is unseen and eternal. The testimony of Mrs. Wood is added to that of myriads who have preceeded her, that the 'ways of heavenly wisdom are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace.' By the sustaining power of Divine grace, she was able to bear with christian patience and resignation a distressing and protracted illness -- and also to view with serenity that painful event, which has deprived a sorrowing husband of a beloved wife; two daughters of an affectionate mother; society of an ornament,...Read MORE...
