"Charlotte-Anne entered into a contract of marriage with Etienne Mesny on 21 December 1670 when she was but 15 years old. The commitment was canceled, but a year later, on 19 November 1671, she married Pierre Frechet, son of Jean and of Jacquette Goyon, from Mazieres in Poitou, France. The wedding was at Sainte-Anne with Father Francois Fillon officiating. Charlotte had four children during the next six years - Pierre, Marie-Anne, Marthe and Angelique. Her husband died on 27 December 1677 and baby Angelique was born on 30 September 1678."

AT THE TIME OF HIS MARRIAGE TO THE WIDOW FRECHET, PIERRE POSSESSED A CONSIDERABLE LAND GRANT IN THE CHARLEVOIX.
