Richard Malone enlisted as a private in Captain Peter Bacus Company, in the First Regiment of the Second Brigade of the Second Division of Ohio Militia, commanded by Col. Jacob Noel. He was drafted at Portsmouth, Ohio on July 28, 1813 and honorably discharged at Upper Sandusky, Ohio on August 28, 1813 having served a totoal of 30 days service.
