Biography
BOIVIN - nickname given to the inveterate drinker, the one who loves and abuses good wine.
Pierre Boivin was baptized on July 26, 1643 in Rouen. Son of Pierre and Anne Lecoq, he married on November 4, 1664 in Trois-Rivières Étiennette Fafard, born in this city in 1652 to Bertrand and Marie Sédilot. From their union 13 children were born. Two of his uncles Charles and François were already in the country. He seems to want to settle in Montreal, but in 1668, he settles on the land of François at the Côte de Beaupré. They did not get along very well, the uncle even disinheriting him in 1675. He was a benefactor of the church where he was churchwarden, and on which he worked several times. He ended his days in Ste-Anne, where he was buried in 1709.
