Peter Pedersen  RESSETH

"Peter and his wife, Marit, came over from Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, sometime in 1880, with their infant son, Ole, who was born in February of that year. They settled near Coon Valley, Wisconsin and raised tobacco on a small farm. By 1900, Peter had purchased 13 acres, and by 1915, owned at least 40 acres. Peter's land was inbetween the towns of Coon Valley and Westby; their post office box was in Westby. Peter and his family were members of the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Coon Valley, which maintained its records in Norwegian until at least 1948 when they recorded Marit's death. Peter died at age 73 and is buried in Upper Coon Valley Cemetery in Coon Valley, Wisconsin. His wife, Marit, lived to age 91, spending her final years mostly blind and living with her daughter, Sina." macalester.edu
