I do not known how my Great Grand-Ma passed, but I will look for documents to find out more information.
My Grandfather Henri Langlois went to visit his mother in their family cabin, located across from Lake Winnipegosis docks - on the Mossy River.(near- first "Fort Dauphin."
When he got to their home by boat, he was alarmed at her condition and the shape of their family cabin
He told my mother Leola, that his mother Mary, was blind now, and alone in the shack. She was laying on her cot, reciting her prayers on her broken-Rosary. Pepere Henry said, "She had some beads missing, but used pins to keep the Rosary together.
He was so upset, he took her in his boat wrapped in blankets and brought her to town. There he arranged to have the Nuns at the Catholic Parish look after her in a care-home. Pepere also asked for a new Rosary for her, and they obliged. She was in her already in her late-nineties.
Henri lived in northern Manitoba since, abt.1911, and had not been home in years.
Marie (Mary) sewed all the SAILS for the Boats that her husband Alphonse built in Winnipegosis. Her old Eaton's Rotary Sewing Machine is in the Winnipegosis Museum! She was a tiny remarkable woman for her times! She lived across the Mossy River, where the Sailboats were constructed by Alphonse senior, her husband!
