Mabery Simons, 77; Of Enfield

Mabery 'Tex' Simons of Enfield died Wednesday at Hartford Hospital. He was 77. He was born in Cross Plains, Texas, and lived in West Hartford before moving to Enfield 15 years ago. He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was employed by Automatic Comfort Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Simons; two sons, Gene Simons of Hamburg, Pa., and Scott Simons of Somers; a daughter, Susan Anderson of East Windsor; nine grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; a brother, Ire Simons of Bangs, Texas; and two sisters, Maxine Dimitri and Ruby Martell, both of Cross Plains, Texas. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, preceded by calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
