Biography
'Claude Bermen, Sieur de Lamartiniere, was the godfather of Claude Chaille on 17 October 1665. Jeanne-Francoise Miloir, wife of Mathurin LePretre, accompanied him as godmother at the church of Notre-Dame de Quebec. Father Charles de Lauzon poured the baptismal water on the little one's forehead. Claude was married on 2 May 1689 at Neuville to Marie-Madeleine Briere, the 15 year-old daughter of the Normand Jean Briere and Jeanne Grandin. The couple had 10 children, including Louis, godson of Frontenac, on 28 June 1692. Claude's ashes have rested at Cap-Sante since 13 December 1724.'
