Lillian was baptized Mabel Lillian Posey but she legally changed her name to Lillian Mabel because the majority of lead milk cows where she was born and raised were named MAbel. She lived on a large working farm and I seem to recall that she was born in Maine and this is where the farm was also. The year that she gave birth to my grandmother, Ethel, she was living in Washington, D.C. and hated the humidity and the mosquitoes so when my great grandfather was out to sea she packed up their first child Henry (Harry) and moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she had my grandmother.
