APRIL 14 - R. Douglas Brulett, 81, of Farmvllle, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Edith Bader Brouilette, a brother, Bader Brouilette and a sister, Eileen Mitchell. He is survived by his children, Carolyn McKeithen of Florida and Bradford Brulett of North Carolina; grandchildren, Wendy Hawkins, Aaron Hawkins, Carl Brulett and Crystal Brulett; nieces, Nancy Gasink of Maine and Donna Craig of Massachusetts and a nephew, Alan Brouilette of Illinois. Mr. Brulett attended college in Massachusetts, earning his BS degree and later received a MA from a college in Florida. He also served in the army from 1943-1946. A visitation will be held this evening (Thursday) from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Shorter Funeral Home, Farmvllle. interment will be in Easthampton, Massachusetts.

FARMVILLE, Va. - Richmond Douglas Brulett, 81, formerly of Easthampton, died April 10, in Farmville.Born Jan. 1, 1924, in Easthampton, he was the son of the late Albert and Edith (Bader) Bruilette.

He attended Easthampton schools and graduated from Easthampton High School. He graduated with a degree in education from McGill University in Canada.

Mr. Brulett was an educator in Massachusetts public schools and taught in Florida, where he resided for several years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was well versed in several languages and spoke German fluently. He traveled extensively in Germany and in Europe.

His wife, Phyllis (Rowe) Brulett, died in 2003.

Mr. Brulett leaves a son, Bradford Brulett, of South Carolina; a daughter, Carolyn McKeithan, of Florida; four grandchildren; one nephew, and two nieces.

A brother, C. Bader Brouilette, and a sister, Eileen B. Mitchell, died earlier.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton.

Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery also in Easthampton at a later date.

A calling hour will precede the funeral.
