"Etienne Trudeau married Adrienne Barbier on 10 January 1667. Charles Le Moyne was present, as was the father of Adrienne, Gilbert Barbier, a carpenter. He had been one of the group of twelve colonists who arrived in Montreal in August of 1642. He was also treasurer and the first warden of the Church of Notre-Dame, appointed 21 November 1657... The mother of Adrienne, Catherine La Vau, was a pious woman..."

Biography
'Adrienne Barbier married Etienne Trudeau, who was a carpenter like her father. Adrienne attended Marguerite Bourgeoys’ school. Then she worked at the Hotel Dieu, founded by Jeanne Mance, for four years beginning at eleven or twelve years of age. After four years, she left to marry Etienne Trudeau.'

'...the couple spent nine years with their son Charles and his wife Madeleine Loisel on the farm of Etienne at Longueuil, which henceforth would be managed by his son. The donation called for the son to take care of the old folks by giving them butter, milk, and eggs, in addition to wheat, peas, etc. For this the son was heir not only to the land, but also to four oxen, six cows, two horses, four pigs, six ewes, and twenty-four chickens.

Etienne Trudeau died at Montreal where, on 22 July 1712, he was buried... On 19 December 1717, Adrienne Barbier proceeded to partition the considerable wealth that remained to her among her children. Then she retired to the home of her son, Jean-Baptiste, where she occupied a room until she died. The death certificate of grandmother Adrienne has never been found.'
