'Louis was born on 3 December 1687 at Longueuil and baptized four days later at Boucherville. He married Marie-Charlotte Aubuchon, daughter of Jacques and of Marie-Ursule Etienne, on 30 November 1715 at Pointe-aux-Trembles... Marie-Ursule died in childbirth on 11 February 1718. Sadly, their first child, a son, died with his mother. Louis married for a second time to Marie-Josephe Roy, daughter of Pierre and Catherine Ducharme, on 31 May 1719 at Montreal... Louis was a master carpenter.'
