Michel ARBOUR (HARBOUR) was the child of Michel ARBOUR (HARBOUR) and Marie-Catherine CONSTANTINEAU

Michel, fils, son of Michel Harbour or Arbour and Marie Constantineau, was born at Petite-Rivière-St.-Charles, Québec, in c1674. He married Barbe, daughter of Acadians Pierre Morin and Françoise Chiasson, in c1700, probably at Québec; he was 26 and she was 14 at the time of their marriage. Michel, fils's's wife's paternal grandfather, Pierre Morin dit Boucher, had come to French Acadia during the 1660s, married a daughter of Acadian pioneer Pierre Martin, and settled at Chignecto. During the late 1680s, Pierre dit Boucher's second son and Michel, fils's wife's uncle Louis fathered an illegitimate child by the daughter of the local seigneur, Michel Le Neuf de La Vallière de Beaubassin. As a result of the scandal, the entire Morin family was banished from the colony. They resettled first at Gaspésie and then moved on to Canada, where Michel, fils and Barbe married. She gave him nine children, all born on the St. Lawrence, eight of them sons who created families of their own. Michel, fils's second son François married Marie-Jeanne-Thérèse, called Thérèse, daughter of Henri Picoron dit Descôteaux, at Ste.-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, near Kamouraska on the lower St. Lawrence, in October 1740. Their second son, François, fils, was born in Canada in c1743. During the 1740s or 1750s, François, père may have taken his family from Canada to the French Maritimes.
