Marie-Catherine  married  Jean-Baptiste CHATEL 15 January 1748 in Lanoraie, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Jean-Baptiste CHATEL  was born 8 July 1723 in Sainte-Foy, Québec, Québec, Canada (Notre-Dame-de-Foy).  Jean-Baptiste died 12 March 1754 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Jean-Baptiste was the child of François CHATEL and Angélique BELLEAU dite LAROSE.

Marie-Catherine  married  (2) Louis THIBAULT 1 March 1756 in Saint-Ours, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 8 children.
Louis THIBAULT  was born 4 August 1732 in Lachenaie, Québec, Canada (Saint-Charles-de-Lachenaie).  Louis died 24 January 1789 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception).  Louis was the child of Nicolas THIBAULT and Marie-Thérèse MASTA.

Marie-Catherine DESAUTELS dite LAPOINTE died 27 April 1799 in Saint-Ours, Lower Canada .

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
