Robert Cinq-Mars
Robert E. Cinq-Mars, 74, died Thursday morning at a Togus hospital following a long period of failing health.
He was born in Lowell, Mass., June 29, 1895, the son of Philip and Gertrude (Jay) Cinq-Mars.
He graduated from the Lowell Textile School and came to Dexter 40 years ago from Warren where he was designer and superintendent at the Georges River Woolen Mill.
In Dexter, he held the same position at the George Park Woolen Co. and later at the Dumbarton Woolen Mill.
For the past several years, he has had part-time position as a designer and superintendent of the Guilford Woolen Industries.
He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, of Poulliot-Seavey Post, American Legion, of which he was a past commander; was chairman of the Penobscot County American Legion, and was serving as chairman of the Penobscot County Selective Service Board, a position which he has held for many years.
