Pichet had left his 1st wife in France when he came to Quebec. His brother, arriving later in Quebec, told him his wife was dead. He then married Catherine Durand. He learned in 1671 that his 1st wife was alive. She died, however, on her way to Quebec. His marriage to Catherine was rehabilitated 9 Sep 1673 at Quebec.
