Invention The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Carol Dupre NORTH HALEDON Carol Dupre, 43, died yesterday at Hackensack Hospital. Born in Webster, Mass., she iived in Glen Rock before moving to North Haledon. Mrs. Dupre was a secretary for 20 years in the law office of Andrew J. Meara. i She was a member of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park. ) Surviving are her husband, Frank; two daughters, Francine and Michelle, both at home; and her father,- Louis Penkala of North Haledon. t Mass will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the church, with burial in Christ the ' King Cemetery. ffc Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rinaldi Funeral Home, 265 Belmount Ave., Haledon. Donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

NORTH HALEDON -Mrs. Carol DuPre, 43, of this borough died Thursday in Hackensack Hospital after a long Illness. Born in Webster. Mass., she lived there 21 years before moving to Glen Rock and North Haledon, where she spent the rest of her life. She was a legal secretary for Andrew Meara, Glen Rock attorney, for 20 years and a member of NHSRA, North Haledon, and St. Paul's R.C. Church, Prospect Park. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Rinaldi Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Ave., Haledon, with a 10:30 Mass of Christian burial at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. Friends may call today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. DuPre leaves her husband, Frank; two daughters, Francine and Michelle at home, and her father, Louis Penkala of North Haledon. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated by the family.
