Anna E. (Bean) Hughes, 97, a former Yarmouth resident, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Saint Petersburg, Florida.

She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Hughes.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Boston and was a former resident of Yarmouth and Quincy.

Surviving are two sons, Paul L. Hughes of Virginia and John R. Hughes of Salem, N.H.; two daughters, Muriel VanDommelen of Florida and JoAnn Hughes of Yarmouthport; 31 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hughes was also the mother of the late June Cook, Edmund J. Hughes Jr. and Patrick J. Hughes.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Houghs Neck, Quincy, Mass., at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Dry Pond Cemetery, Stoughton.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Wollaston.
