Marie-Anne LEMOINE  was born 15 October 1735 in Québec, Québec, Canada (Quebec City).  Marie-Anne died 19 May 1773 in Chambly, Québec, Canada (Saint-Joseph-de-Chambly).  Marie-Anne was the child of Francois LEMOINE dit JASMIN and Genevieve BOUTHILLETTE (BOUTILLET).

François  married  (2) Marguerite MORIN 19 February 1776 in Chambly, Province of Québec, Canada .  Marguerite MORIN  was born 19 October 1756 in Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada (Pointe-Olivier).  Marguerite died 20 January 1778 in Montréal, Québec, Canada (Sault-au-Récollet) (Côte-St-Michel) (Côte-St-Paul).  Marguerite was the child of Joseph MORIN and Marie-Anne CLAVEAU.

François  married  (3) Thérèse BÉCHARD 25 June 1787 in L'Acadie, Province of Québec, Canada .  Thérèse BÉCHARD  was born 19 March 1735 in Beaumont, Québec, Canada (Saint-Étienne-de-Beaumont).  Thérèse died 11 April 1803 in L'Acadie, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Marguerite-de-Blairfindie).  Thérèse was the child of Louis BÉCHARD and Catherine-Francoise GUENETTE.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
